Fun and games at Stokeinteignhead on President's Day

STOKEINTEIGNHEAD are holding an open day at their Netherton Park ground on Sunday, July 24 to coincide with their annual president’s game.

The fun starts at 11am with a junior section softball match against Lustleigh.

A President’s XI, being organised by Mike Lang, will take on a Stokeinteignhead XI in honour of the sterling work done by Howard Basham over many years as player, groundsman, chairman and now president.

“Everybody is invited to attend to see what opportunities are available for people to join as playing members, assist with the running of the club or advertising opportunities for local businesses,” said secretary Ian Lang.

Refreshments are being supplied by Waitrose, as part of the ECB Club Open Day scheme, and will be available throughout the day.

An evening barbeque is planned weather permitting.

The ground is situated atLower Netherton near Combeinteignhead with stunning views across to Dartmoor and along the Teign Estuary.
