THE Brockman Cup XI takes on the Aaron Printers Cup XI at Torquay CC tonight (6pm) in the traditional battle for the Dick Lear Cup.

The match is an annual affair to remember former Torquay and Kingskerswell cricketer Dick Lear, who died in 2010.

Dick was a Torquay played for more than 30 years from the 60s to the 90s and finished his career with friends at Kingskerswell, turning to umpiring when his playing day ended.

He played in both midweek competitions and was a Brockman Cup winner with Torquay in 1977

The game was rained off last season for the second year running. Organisers hope a change from Sunday to a T20 evening format will keep the weather gods happy.
