Stokeinteignhead commemorate Dick Parker's contribution to club and community today at celebration event

CRICKETER and teacher Dick Parker’s life and many achievements will be celebrated today (Saturday) before, during and after a memorial day game at Stokeinteignhead CC

Dick, who died earlier this year, taught generations of students at Teign School in Kingsteignton over four decades and played cricket for Stokeinteignhead for much of that time.

Away from the cricket pitch and the classroom, Dick organised Teign School’s annual entry in the Ten Tors challenge on Dartmoor/

Memorial day will start at 11am with a six-a-side competition featuring current players, Stoke ‘legends’ and former pupils with refreshments provided throughout and a barbeque in the evening. 

A prize draw will also take place and all proceeds from the day will go to the Devon Wildlife Trust A dedication ceremony, led by Alan Bauer, will take place at 4.30pm.
