Tourists looking for game in South Devon after Covid cancellation

LONG-running tourists Four Oaks Saints CC are looking to fix up a game on Thursday afternoon to replace a Covid cancellation.

The Midlanders, who have been touring Devon since the 1980s, were due to play South Devon CC.

South Devon have been forced to pull out of the game as they have more than 20 players self-isolating in addition to a handful of positive tests for the illness.

The tourists have already had one cancellation – Monday’s game against Paignton was washed out – and don’t want to lose any more games.

Russell Longthorne, the tour organiser, said a game within a 25-mile radius of Torquay would be ideal.

“We don’t really mind what sort of game it is – 40 overs or T20 – just so long as we play some cricket,” said Longthorne.
