Charity fund-raiser today at Clyst Hydon CC for Haturusingha family

THERE is still time to get down to Clyst Hydon’s ground for today’s (Saturday's) charity fund-raising day in memory of Thenuja Tesath Haturusingha.
Thenuja was the young son of Hydon’s former overseas player Dhanuja Haturusingha, who had eight seasons with the club between 2008-2017.
Before more restrictive visa rules were brought in, Dhanuja was well known and well liked on the lower-division circuit.
Tragically his 10-month-old son Thenuja passed away last month after being rushed to hospital with a sudden illness.
Dhanuja had to take out a loan to pay for his son’s various medical and funeral bills, some of which has already been re-paid by donations from generous Clyst Hydon members.
Today’s event aims to raise the remainder of the money owed.
The day-long entertainment includes a bouncy castle, face painting and a sweet stand for the youngsters. Adults can enjoy the bar and live music from Reckless, which is due to get under way around 6pm.
