Devon Women Match Preview: Cheshire (A)

Devon Women will face Cheshire for the first time in 9 years when they travel to Warrington Sports Club on Sunday, 7 September.
Devon are currently top of Division 1, having won all five of their games in the competition so far, including a professional and powerful run chase against Wiltshire two weeks ago. Victory on Sunday will secure Devon's place in the competition final at Kibworth CC on 21 September.
Cheshire sit fifth in the table after their 69-run defeat by Buckinghamshire last time out, their second defeat in the competition.

ECB Women's County Championshop - T20 Division 3
Jodie Cook captained a Devon Women side featuring Amara Carr, Aylish Cranstone and Rosalie Fairbairn to a comfortable 62-run win at the County Ground in Northamptonshire.
Devon's innings was built on a trio of fine contributions. Captain Cook provided the early impetus with a brisk 26, laying a platform with wicket-keeper Carr, who scored 40 off 31 balls. But it was the unbeaten anchor role of Cait O’Keefe that proved invaluable, as her mature 43 from 47 balls guided Devon to a formidable 139/5 despite Kate Coppack's 3-23.
In reply, Cheshire's chase never found momentum, strangled by a disciplined bowling unit. The new-ball pair of Becca Silk (1-8) and skipper Cook (2-17) set the tone with miserly spells, before spinners Sophie Mackenzie (2-16) and Stephanie Hutchins (1-8) applied a clinical stranglehold, reducing the hosts to just 77-7.
