Devon Women are back in Vitality T20 Women's County Cup action this weekend as we host Suffolk at The Holt on Sunday, 11 May.

May sees the 50-over season pause for a month of Vitality T20 Women's County Cup fixtures in a straight knockout format, with the games coming thick and fast for the winners.

Devon 'got over the line' in Round 1 against Dorset on Monday to maintain their 100% start to the season, while Suffolk have lost their only competitive game of the season so far against Oxfordshire last month.

The winners of Sunday's fixture will host Tier 1 Bears Women (Warwickshire) in Round 3 next weekend.

Sean Day's Thoughts

"We're really excited to be in the second round of the national cup. We have played some great cricket so far this year, so we're looking forward to seeing the team keep that momentum going against Suffolk.

"It’s going to take an awesome team effort to get the win, but we are ready for the challenge and glad to be back home at Budleigh, where we have won twice already this year.

"Last week we had to dig deep to get to this round, so we can go out and enjoy the experience of knockout cricket and it would be lovely to progress further in the competition."

Captain's Thoughts

"We have started the knock-out rounds with a win and now we’re looking to go again.

"With each round the pressure grows, and we are a tight group of players who back and stick with each other, and rise to that pressure.

"If we back our strengths and improve on a couple of areas from the last game, it will great game of cricket."

Regina Lilii's Preview

"The knockout format is exciting!

"We have created some great momentum going into the next round, and it's important to continue building on that and to keep enjoying our cricket.

"It can be easy to overcomplicate the game, especially under pressure, so the key will be to keep doing the basics well, executing our plans and with the nature of T20 cricket, being prepared to adapt quickly to any situation or swings in momentum."
