We are delighted to announce our support for Her Game Too Cricket by becoming partners with the award-winning campaign.
Her Game Too is a national campaign that challenges sexism in cricket and supports cricket clubs to become more inclusive spaces where women can fully participate in all aspects of the game.
"We are delighted to be supporting such an important campaign as Her Game Too Cricket," says Managing Director, Matt Theedom. "At the Devon Cricket Foundation, we aim to create welcoming environments within the sport and make cricket a game for all through our #OneGame plan.
"We are pleased to be one of the first counties to support them in their mission to ensure that every woman continues to feel safe, comfortable and, most importantly, respected in the wider cricket community and of course, here in Devon."
Paige Caunce, Director of Cricket at Her Game Too said:
"We are thrilled to be bringing Devon Cricket Foundation on board with the Her Game Too Cricket campaign.
"Sharing our commitment to inclusivity and promoting gender equality, we are very much looking forward to working together and spreading the message across Devon that cricket is Her Game Too.
"The Foundation’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programme, #OneGame, has made tremendous progress in bringing people together with a shared love of cricket. We are proud to be supporting their journey towards stamping out sexism from the sport.
As part of our collaboration, the Her Game Too Cricket logo will be proudly displayed on the 2024 Devon Women's shirt and we also plan to host a dedicated Her Game Too fixture later in the year.
"Through partnering, we hope that we can inspire and encourage women and girls across the county to get involved in cricket," says Paige. "Whether that be; playing, officiating, coaching or supporting. By supporting one another, we can break down barriers and challenge the stereotypes that still exist within the game.
"We are incredibly thankful for Devon Cricket’s support and are excited about the future of cricket within the county."
Devon Women's Eva Lewis welcomed the news of the partnership, saying:
"DCF’s new partnership with Her Game Too is an extraordinary opportunity to place women’s cricket, and specifically women’s cricket in the South West, in the spotlight. As both myself and my teammates know, cricket has always been our game.
"This new partnership not only represents a change in attitude, but also a real chance to further our visibility and ensure that everyone knows that this is our game too."
Lucy Ford, Director and Co-Founder of Her Game Too, added: "Her Game Too Cricket are keen to work with stakeholders within cricket who align with our values, and share our ethos that cricket is a game with all.
"We are really pleased to be partnered with several grassroots clubs throughout the country, but we are also absolutely delighted to be partnered with the Devon Cricket Foundation."
