As the 35-over league progresses, the competition is heating up, with every point now crucial in the race for table positions. This week was no exception, delivering plenty of action, wickets, and runs across the board.

Division One

Taunton Deane hosted Plymouth on Sunday, still in search of their first win of the season. After winning the toss, the home side chose to field. Plymouth's innings was anchored by a brilliant unbeaten 121* from Melissa Banks, well supported by Iona Pennington (34) and Claire Varcoe (40), guiding the visitors to a total of 237. In reply, Taunton struggled to build momentum, with only Georgia Adams (19) and Ruth Craven (16) reaching double figures. The hosts were bowled out in 24 overs, with Claire Varcoe starring with the ball as well, taking four wickets to hand Taunton their sixth consecutive defeat.

Cornwood and Exeter met in a mid-table clash, with Exeter winning the toss and opting to bowl first. Frankie Lee led the scoring for Cornwood with 25, supported by Gemma Lancaster (17) and Shini Al Khalid (14*), as the side posted 108 all out in 31 overs. Chasing a modest target, Exeter's innings got off to a shaky start, and despite a solid 47 from Jessica Breban, they struggled to build partnerships. Cornwood’s bowlers kept the pressure on, eventually bowling Exeter out for 96 and securing a hard-fought win.

Division Two

Hatherleigh travelled to Bovey Tracey on a mission to claim the top spot in the table. After winning the toss, they elected to bowl first. Bovey Tracey posted 109 all out, with Monica Gair (20) and Lily Driver (19) leading the scoring, but were unable to build lasting partnerships. Impressively, all six Hatherleigh bowlers claimed a wicket in a well-rounded bowling display. In reply, Hatherleigh made a steady start through Chloe Rose (11), Chloe Dennis (22), and Olivia Cooper (13), before a few quick wickets threatened to slow their chase. However, Jessica Dennis (32*) and Amalie Brock (2*) guided the side safely to victory in the 21st over.

The scheduled match between Exeter 2s and Exmouth 1s has been rearranged for a later date.

Division Three

Exmouth 2s hosted Holsworthy, losing the toss and being asked to field first. Holsworthy’s top order faltered, managing just three runs collectively from the top five batters. A resilient effort from L. Godfrey (31) and J. Gardener (17*) helped the visitors reach 90 all out. Exmouth's Debbie Chilcott starred with the ball, claiming an impressive five-wicket haul. Despite chasing a modest total, Exmouth didn’t have it all their own way, losing four early wickets before Amelie Watson (18*) and Karen Riley (33*) steadied the innings and secured the win in just 14 overs.

Bradninch & Kentisbeare welcomed Chagford for their latest fixture, with the home side winning the toss and choosing to field. Chagford put up a strong total of 204, thanks to a captain's knock of 80 from Grace Lewis, well supported by Maisie Barr (39) and Lily Sargent (40). In response, Bradninch showed real determination, with opener Catlin Rodgers carrying her bat for an unbeaten 99* off 97 balls, and Fi Morgan contributing 61*. Despite the impressive partnership, the hosts fell just short, finishing on 179 for 1, 25 runs adrift of the target.

The 35-over league campaign rolls on next week, promising more excitement and high-stakes action.
