DEVON CRICKET GIRLS LEAGUE 2023
2023 sees the second year of the Devon Cricket Girls' League - a move made in response to the growth in girls' playing and the need to have a more formal playing offer for established teams. The hard work of volunteers at clubs and the connected approach of working in schools and clubs has seen a big increase in the number of potential teams and girls accessing the game.
After consultation with the youth leagues, the girls' leagues will be centrally run so that they can be newly established and managed by Devon Cricket. For detailed team information, you can visit the Devon Cricket Girl's Leagues and Competitions page
The formation of the leagues from under 11 upwards means girls have a clear pathway (see graphic below) from All Stars to both the women's hardball and softball leagues. It is a very exciting time for girl's cricket in the county.

The Power Pairs League uses the pairs format to ensure that the games are all about particiaption. All girls are encouraged to bat, bowl and wicket keep, as well as take turns to lead the team. This ensures that the girls continue to gain experince in all aspects of the game as well as developing their non playing skills such as leadership.

In the 2024 season, the teams will play in their geographical groups and the top team from each group will compete against each other on finals day to find the league winners.

The Super 8s Hardball League reflects the rules and format of the pre-season Super 8s Competition help by the Devon Women's Cricket League. This format continues with the message of participation and teams are encouraged to share around the roles of captain and coach before games, so that the girls are taking on ownership of their game.
This season the teams will play in small local groups home and away as well as some of teams in the other groups. An allthrough league will mean the top two teams from all teams will compete against each other at finals day.

DEVON GIRL'S CRICKET LEAGUE UNDER 17S T20
New to 2024, the Under 17s will be an allthrough league played around the exam season. It will provide opportutnities to keep girls in the game and support them from trasition ifrom junior to senior cricket.
