DEVON GIRLS' CRICKET LEAGUE
The Devon Cricket Girls' League was created in response to the growth in girls' playing and the need to have a more formal playing offer for established teams. The hard work of volunteers at clubs and the connected approach of working in schools and clubs has seen a big increase in the number of potential teams and girls accessing the game.
After consultation with the youth leagues, the girls' leagues will be centrally run by the Devon Cricket Foundation. For detailed team information, you can visit the Devon Girls' Cricket League and Competitions page
The formation of the leagues from Under 11 upwards means girls have a clear pathway (see graphic below) from All Stars to both the women's hardball and softball leagues. It is a very exciting time for girls' cricket in the county.

The Power Pairs League uses the pairs format to ensure that the games are all about participation. All girls are encouraged to bat, bowl and wicket-keep, as well as take turns to lead the team. This ensures that the girls continue to gain experience in all aspects of the game as well as develop their non-playing skills such as leadership.

The Super 8s Hardball League reflects the rules and format of the Super 8s Competition held by the Devon Women's Cricket League. This format continues with the message of participation and teams are encouraged to share the roles of captain and coach before games so that the girls can take on ownership of their game.
This season the teams will play in small local groups home and away as well as some of the teams in the other groups. An all-through league will mean the top two teams from all teams will compete against each other on finals day.
Exeter CC were the winners of the 2024 Super 8s Under 15s League, with Plymouth as runners-up in a great game, which came down to the last over.
