Kingsbridge Primary School have been named as our Chance to Shine School of the Term for the 2024/25 Spring Term.

The South Hams school received a six-week Whole School Programme in Term 3 with our South Devon Community Coach, Niall Leahy.

Speaking on the Whole School Programme, Kingsbridge Primary School's Katy Mott said:

"Our 6-week programme was initially targeted at our Year 5 and 6 children. We were so impressed with Niall’s well-planned and progressive curriculum.

"He delivered the sessions with enthusiasm and passion which had a huge impact on the children’s engagement and enjoyment.

"Our children made huge strides in their physical cricket-based skills, knowledge of strategies and tactics in competitive games, as well as in their personal and social skills."

Last month, Niall returned to Kingsbridge to present the school with their certificate and a Chance to Shine kit bag as part of the award. After the presentation, Arlo, who participated in the Whole School Programme, said: "I enjoyed cricket because Niall was great and we learnt a lot of skills."

"We would highly recommend the Chance to Shine cricket programme," says the school. "We are looking forward to organising a tournament of small-sided cricket games in the coming weeks."

Our Community Coaches have already started delivering in schools for the Summer Term and looking for our next School of the Term.
