Young cricketers are being asked to start their officiating journey by taking the entry-level Young Cricket Officials Course.

Young Cricket Officials is a programme aimed at giving 14-18-year-olds the key skills and confidence to umpire and score cricket.

This programme is completely free and involves face-to-face training where participants learn how to umpire and score, and then put it into practice by playing matches. Participants will then be ready to go back to their club or school to put these new skills into practice and then be offered chances at festivals and tournaments where they will be mentored and supported.

The programme is perfect for any 14-18-year-olds who are keen to learn more about cricket, help out at their local club or school, or learn valuable skills to use towards a volunteering scheme (such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award).

Participants will also receive a shirt and an umpire clicker to help them on their umpiring journey.
