TIM Western and Tobias Delahunty both scored unbeaten centuries for Torquay & Kingskerswell 2nd XI in a whopping 205-run D West win over arch rivals Barton 2nd XI.Delahunty and Western with the evidence of their partnership

Tom Lillywhite was the one and only casualty sustained by Torquay & Kingskerswell as they piled-up a massive 326 for one in 45 overs.

Western and Delahunty shared an unbroken stand of 257 for the second wicket while making 128 and 152 not out respectively.

If Devon League records are accurate – and that is a discussion point – only Cameron Rowlands and Niall Leahy with a stand of 298 in 2024 have gone on longer. The opposition? Barton 2nd XI.

Comparison

Delahunty – 21 fours, five sixes – scored 114 of his runs in boundaries. He only faced 88 balls. Western was positively pedestrian in comparison: 14 fours, three sixes and 126 balls faced!

Barton’s bowlers found keeping the runs down challenging. Harry Shelton and Dave Cadwallader operated below five an over. Callum Crocker and Mustafizur Rahman were less than six.

Barton were all out for 121 with no one making more than skipper Tom Porter (21). Shaun Needham was next best on 18.

Luke Glasson (3-40) got into Barton’s top five. Delahunty (2-18) spun out Porter and Dave Cadwallader (13).
