
HEATHCOAT extended their lead at the top of The Blights Motors NDL Division One with a six-wicket win at Westleigh.
Westleigh scored an all-out total of 194, thanks in the main to a fourth-wicket stand of 128 between Kyle Faber (86) and Chris Lock (37). Faber hit nine fours and six sixes in a 51-ball stay at the crease.
Thirty-three extras and a 10 not out from Richard Pearson were the only other double-figure scores.
Daniel Harrison did the damage with the ball, taking four for 29, He was backed up by Dan Pugsley, and Archie Goldrick with a couple each
Pugsley (77no), and Goldrick (57no) were there at the end to see Heathcoat to victory, despite the efforts of Steffan James, who took all four wickets to fall for 12 runs during his eight overs.
Bridestowe & Belstone remain in hot pursuit after winning the West Devon derby at Hatherleigh by four wickets.
Hatherleigh, who who the toss and batted, racked-up an all-out score of 246. Kirt Forgham top scored with 45, Niall Leahy (36) and Adam Quick (32no) both chipped in, Forty-four extras helped the cause.
Toby Gostling (4-55) took the bowling honours for B&B. There were a couple each for Noah Metherell and James Ewen.
Bridestowe & Belstone’s chase was led by 49 from Richard Drake. He had support from Gostling with 32. The main damage was done by Metherell (57no) and Shaquan Glasgow (68no) who put on a rapid 109 to win the game with 12 overs to spare.
Glasgow was particularly brutal, hitting 10 fours and three sixes off just 26 balls. Jake Godwin and Zac Spears both took two wickets for the home side.
Newton Tracey kept their 100 per cent record in Division Two by inflicting a 66-run defeat on Victoria Park at Westward Ho!
In-form Oli Symons led from the front with 79 in Newton’s 40-over score of 215 for seven. There was support from Neil Ayre (34no) and Kieran Soper (27). Rob Boundy (3-47), and Nitin Mathew (3-51) were the pick of the Park bowlers.
The Park struggled against the Newton attack. Rob Guppy top scored with 30, 28 extras, and 27 from Ian Brown were the next best, as they were all out for 149 in the 28th over. There were two wickets each for Shubham Shubham, Tim Watson, and George Long-Howell.
Barnstaple & Pilton took the short trip to Braunton, where they lost by 21 runs.
Braunton scored 223 for eight in their 40 overs. Stephen Butler hit a career-best 70. Justin Vincent (39) and Sam Reddick (29) helped the cause. Febin Francis, Dom Chugg, and Jamie Sutton each took a brace for B&P.
Barnstaple & Pilton’s reply was dominated by Matt Newton’s 76. There was support from Dom Chugg (30) and 29 extras. The innings closed on 202 for seven. Home skipper Reddick (3-29) was the pick of the bowlers.
Holsworthy chased 149 to win at Exford and got them with three wickets in hand.
Oli Ahern top scored with 73 in Exford’s 148 all out. His was the only significant score.
Adam Lovejoy starred with the ball, taking five for 29 off his 8 overs
Sam Stacey (39) and Liam Brend (32no), together with Ryan Seymour-Smith (37) guided Holsworthy to victory in the 31st over.
