Premier Division prospects – week five

Exeter v Tavistock

Exeter (Jon Lewis-Oliver): Fern and Price are available and come back into the side. Hoping the weather holds so we get a game in and continue our good form.

Tavistock (Sean Cleave): Dave Ball drops out of the side this week, with Tom Sherrell coming in. Tom has put together some impressive performances for the 2nd XI over the last few weeks, and we’re looking forward to seeing if he can carry that form into Saturday’s game. We know we’re facing a tough challenge against an in-form Exeter side, but we’re hoping to build on the lessons learned from our previous matches and come away with some valuable points to bring back to Tavistock. Away from the 1st XI, there has been a change in leadership for the 2nd XI. Marc Webber has stepped down as captain due to personal reasons, with Ryan Burke taking over the role. I’d like to thank Marc for all his hard work, commitment, and efforts over the years, and wish Ryan the very best of luck as he begins this new chapter as captain.

Cornwood v Sidmouth

Cornwood (Matt Skeemer): Matt Butterworth and Alex Shutt out due to being away and an injury. Robin Dart and Harry Woolaway come in. Loads of positives from the last few weeks and some obvious work-ons regarding the batting we will be looking to fix. We are on a really good run at the moment so it’s just about continuing to enjoy that.

Sidmouth (Taylor Ingham-hill): James Docherty and George Bower in after really strong performances with the 2nd Xl. Hopefully the rain stays away as we always look forward to a scrappy game at Cornwood.Promoted: Cornwood's Robin Dart, who has been elevated to the first team

Sandford v Paignton

Sandford (Adam Small): Jamie Palmer still struggling with his back so is resting and Southgate has picked up a niggle working so is out unfortunately. In come Thompson, Jones and Hunter. Always a good fixture against Paignton, so hoping the weather stays away and we get a full game in. Got plenty of Rib Ticklers on ice ready for the Paignton boys.

Paignton (Harry Ward): Myself and Noah Wright back in. Steven George unavailable. Looking forward to going to Sandford always a great place to play cricket, against a strong side, hopefully Sandford have stocked-up on Rib Ticklers.

Bradninch & Kentisbeare v Hatherleigh

Bradninch & Kentisbeare (Gary Chappell): Couple enforced changes this week, among them Theo Lamey in for Jon Triner. We haven't played Hatherleigh for a few years so unsure what to expect. A few familiar names still around and they always played well as a team. Won't be easy and our focus is on improving and chalking up some wins.

Hatherleigh (Rob Cockwill): A couple of changes this week. Sean Letheren and Emmerson Wood out. Adam Quick and Ruben Forrester in. I thought we performed well last week and on another day we could have got a positive result. We just need to combine all three facets of the game together and I’m sure we can push up the table and start winning games. Kensham Park has always been a tough place for us to go, we have had some interesting game against them in the past, and we are looking forward to the challenge.

Plymouth v Exmouth

Plymouth: Nothing to report.

Exmouth (James Horler): Still confirming the team at the moment. A few niggles that we need to assess how manage them. Looking to continue the momentum we’ve built up over the last few weeks. Hoping for some better weather than forecast currently.
