PLYMSTOCK failed to make the impression they hoped for in the Tolchards DCL B Division, which closed with them four off the bottom.

For a team that just missed out on promotion 12 months earlier, that was a disappointing league campaign.

Plymstock saved their best cricket in 2026 for the Ivor Dewdney-sponsored Corinthian Cup.

Ten-wicket wins over Barton then Chagford on finals day at Bovey Tracey put Plymstock’s name on the trophy.

Tom Mitch, the Plymstock captain, said there is more than one way to measure success.

Silverware

“A successful season overall, nice to win some silverware but not quite good enough consistently on a Saturday.

“Was great to integrate a new group of players into the team, which increased competition for places, and a few new ideas into how we can get better moving forward.”

“Chester was great with the bat consistently all year,” said Mitch. “With a bit more help from the rest of us, it would’ve been a very different finishing result.”

Chester Oldfield (342) was Plymstock’s leading run getter and picked-up 10 wickets too.

New boy Adam Frost’s 28 wickets put him top of the bowling stats.

“Our bowling unit has been excellent again,” said Mitch. “Frosty took a lot of poles and everyone else more than played their part.”
