Donovan (21no) and Morgan Potgieter (21) saw Clyst over the hump.

Dan Kendall. The Clyst captain, said his side were ‘full value’ for the win.

Kendall added: “Our bowling unit were superb throughout.

“Ollie Manning and Andrew Donovan looked unplayable at times and were well supported by the rest of the attack, particularly spinners Ewan Cragg and Nathan Wells, who gave nothing away.

“It wasn't a good pitch for batting and with rain due the run chase wasn't as straightforward as it seemed.”

Chudleigh have yet to win a game this season and are one off the bottom of the table.

Matt Heather, the Chudleigh captain, said you did not have to look hard to see where the team’s problem lies.

“Quite simply, we need to bat better,” said Heather.

“The whole team, but in particular the top order, are desperately short of runs. We need to really work hard on that between games.

“I'm not taking anything away from Clyst: they bowled really well.”
