B Division Briefing – week 16

Barton (4th) v Bideford (top)

Barton (Steve Lewis): Tom Drake and Thomas Cox back in for Lewis Crocker and Josh Parkinson. Difficult choices were made but it suited both the first and second team.  Toughest fixture in the league this season, they are a strong well-balanced side with numerous match winners. We will have to be at our absolute best to get a result and will work hard to achieve that.

Bideford (Jack Ford): Sam Beckley back into the side after his 4fer and quick fire 30 in the 2’s last week. Barton always a tough place to go and play cricket, and seems like they are currently on a strong run of form so going to be another challenging week in the B. Three weekends to go we’ve just got to keep doing what we’ve been doing so far, and not change anything.

Ashburton (10th) v Seaton (4th)

Ashburton (Lloyd White): Few changes due to injuries and unavailability. Towers and both Coon brothers are out. Saturlay, Pascoe, Martin in. Seaton wouldn't have been to our place for a while so we will look forward to welcoming them. Lads buzzing from last week and we'll be giving it our all once again. Just like last week.... there's more on the line for them than us.

Seaton (Tim Doulton): Couple changes this week as Stephen Pritchard and Digby Wheeler replace the unavailable Tristan Wakeley and Ben Fisher.  Ashburton have pulled off a couple big results this season, including last week, so we are very conscious of what they can do and what they’re fighting for. With three games to go, each one feels equally important for us if we want to finish the season how we started.

Clyst St George (7th) v Stoke Gabriel (2nd)

Clyst St George (Par Singh): Few players away this weekend! Inder Singh and Andrew Taylor come back into the side. Stoke Gabriel are a good team and I expect a tough match. But we know how to win at home. Will have to play at our best to get a result.

Stoke Gabriel (Jack Tolley): Few changes this week. Out are Sanjog into the 2s and Mike Smith. In come Jean Le Riche and Jack De Vere. We know where we need to improve from last week, lots of hard work has gone in this week but we know what we need to do to play our best cricket. Always a good and tough game at Clyst, we are ready for a tough game.

Plymstock (8th) v Bovey Tracey II (9th)

Plymstock (Tom Mitch): Plymstock (Tom Mitch): Myself and Mike Blackmore unavailable this week. In come Chris Davies and Scott Mansfield. Performances need to improve if we’re to get back to winning ways and I have every faith in the lads to do just that.

Bovey Tracey (Dan Green): Similar team to last week with Gethin Williams back from holiday. It’s make-or-break Saturday. We know where we stand; time to turn up before it’s to late.

Plympton (5th) v Braunton (7th)

Plymouth (Harry Kandampully): Back to almost full strength this week for what we know will be a tough fixture vs Braunton. Eldho Mathews is the only player to make his debut last week to keep his place after impressing with the bat. We know they will be raring to go with lots to play for this season for every team.

Braunton (Sam Reddick): Sam Bithell and Charlie Tucker are back this week in a game we are seeing as a must win. Ed Holmes and Jason Raynor are unavailable. We have been way short of our best away from home this season, and know that we didn’t make a strong account of ourselves at home to Plympton earlier in the season. Keen to right a few wrongs and turn our away form round at the most crucial point of the season.
