B DIVISION BRIEFING – WEEK SIX
Plymstock v Seaton
Plymstock (Tom Mitch); Chris Davies, Josh Sumner and Fraser Cowen come in. Time to bounce back after last week’s result. Seaton have had a good start so a big performance is needed.
Seaton (Tim Doulton): We are subject to some unavailability and injury issues this week. We’re missing Louis Adey, Louis Gillison and Ben Fisher to unavailability and unfortunately Tristan Wakeley is out injured. This does provide opportunity to young Digby Wheeler who makes his 1st XI debut. We also welcome back Jack Dormer and Kersley Sutton to the side. More of the same from last week in both departments and we’ll be making it a challenge for them.
Clyst St George v Braunton
Clyst St George (Par Singh): Few missing this for this weekend’s clash against Braunton. Bertie creer and Andy Donovan are unavailable. I come back in as does long-term club servant Chris Ferro and Owain Saville. Need to get a result this weekend against Braunton. Hopefully the weather stays away and gives us that opportunity
Braunton (Sam Reddick): Theo Valeri is back this week. He will help us in all three areas of the game. It’s great to have him back straight after a win. We have played some excellent cricket in phases this year (apart from one game), and we are looking to put in our best performance yet against Clyst. Top order application is the focus for Saturday. We are all excited to get going.
Plympton v Bideford
Plympton (Harry Kandampully): One change to the team. Kristian King comes up to the 1s after batting consistently for the 2s. Tobin Barker makes way. Bideford are a strong side and we know we will have to be at our best to continue winning streak. Fingers crossed the weather forecast is wrong and we get a game in.
Bideford (Jack Ford): Seamer Chris Luxton comes into the side. Looks like Plympton are going very well with a couple very dangerous players in Motswiri and Randev, so expecting a tough fixture. However, we know if we play anywhere near our best cricket we can get a result against any team, and so this would be a great week to start a run of good performances.
Ashburton v Stoke Gabriel
Ashburton (Lloyd White): Will Coon and Jack Warren both unavailable, swanning off to Lords. Ash Berry and Nat Saturley come in. We've played Stoke for years in the C West and I don't remember a game that wasn't a good one. Looks like they might get lucky with the weather though.
Stoke Gabriel (Jack Tolley): Liam Mair and Mike Smith both unavailable. So back come Danny Duke and Mike Meech. Ben Robinson also misses out and Sam Cogger returns to the side. Andy Ball in for Kyle Lardner, who has an important meeting. Hoping the weather doesn't ruin yet another weekend of cricket for us. It’s been very stop start which has been frustrating. The top order have been working hard, let’s see if they can go big this weekend.
Barton v Bovey Tracey II
Barton (Steve Lewis): I’m away this weekend so Nick Watkin will lead the side. Upgrade. Tom Drake is allowed out so will take my place, another upgrade. Tough selection week. Riley Calland is back in and Sree Sankaranaryanan after his second team bowling efforts gets the call up. Stuart Bowker is back in for Arun Radhakrishnan, who has work commitments. Dev Sinha and Chris Stubbs strengthen the seconds. Hope the rain stays away and the lads can bounce back from last week to get a positive result. Never easy against a Bovey Tracey side.
Bovey Tracey (Dan Green): We need to get back on track going to be another tough week at Barton the team Isn’t finalised yet.
