A DIVISION
IVYBRIDGE (2nd) v BOVEY TRACEY (6th)
Ivybridge (Adam Huxtable): I’m back in this week! Jake Dunn is out with school cricket. Really looking forward to the game, the lads had a big win (at Bradninch & Kentisbeare) in the T20 Cup on Sunday to keep the momentum going. We need to keep our standards where they have been. The exciting thing for us is I don’t think we have been at our best yet! Hoping for another tough game against a good side.
Bovey Tracey (Seb Ansley): Two changes in the side this week as myself and Tom Andrew out. Chris Yabsley and Brad Causey back in. Tight call with Hammett released from dad duties for a one off this week but he'll take the gloves for the 2nd XI. Very stop-start with really nothing to show for it as a team yet this season. Ivybridge on a high at the moment so we will hope to invoke the spirit of ‘2022 Dan Green’ at their place.
BUDLEIGH SALTERTON (7th) v KILMINGTON (9th)
Budleigh Salterton (Ed Doble); Two changes for this week, back comes Max Mejzner with the bat and Sid Fereday with the ball. Looking forward to being back playing at home and hopefully a full game of cricket.
Kilmington (Oli Reed): Just one change from the side that picked up the win against Thorverton, with Josh Cann coming in for Tom Olive. It's a really important game as we look to keep our momentum going and climb back towards the middle of the table. The weather looks set fair, so we're hoping for an exciting afternoon of cricket. (Hopefully no Mankad's from them).
HEATHCOAT (4th) v TORQUAY & KINGSKERSWELL (3rd)
Heathcoat (Jamie Drew): Couple of changes this week, James Gregson is back from Military duties and 2nd XI skipper Lee Dixon comes into the side to add experience and power into the middle order.
Torquay & Kingskerswell (Harry Passenger): Pretty much an unchanged team this week, which is a nice reflection of the performances and effort we’ve seen of late. Looking forward to a good battle at a lovely place to play cricket. It’s a big opportunity for us to test ourselves against a Prem club and show what we’re capable of. We’re excited for the challenge and looking forward to getting stuck in.
THORVERTON v NORTH DEVON
North Devon (Jack Moore): Couple changes from the rain off last week. James Tyson and Jack Popham both return. D J Jay (Rothery) is away. Don't think the table tells the whole story with Thorverton’s placements so won't be taking them lightly. Feels like we've hardly played any cricket so hoping to put together some performances over the next three-to-four weeks to set up the back nine.
Thorverton (Jake Choules): We’re looking forward to back-to-back home games after a wasted journey last week. Great opportunity to kick-start our season against the favourites for the division. Whilst a couple of key names are away again this week (Ben Slaviero and Harry Choules), we’ve got lots of guys back for the summer now so hoping we can build some momentum and create some healthy competition for places. Incomers include myself, Luke Vukusic, Sam Jefferson and Brendan Coetzee. Brendan was out overseas a couple of years ago but locally qualified now as he’s studying in the UK.
CULLOMPTON (5th) v BRIDESTOWE & BELSTONE (8th)
Cullompton (Dan King): Anzil out of action through injury, but Everett and Joseph come back in, and Nathan Vincent comes back in to bolster the seamers. Looking to continue to build some momentum after a stop-start May. The squad is in a good place at the moment, and it promises to be a hard-fought clash against Bridestowe.
Bridestowe & Belstone (Tallan Burns): A couple of changes from last weekend’s wash out, myself and Sam Ewen come in for Simon Gillespie & Jack Hatton who are both unavailable. Looking forward to another competitive game against good opposition.
