Coaching children’s cricket is an enormously rewarding role within the coaching pathway. Players need expertise, support and passion at every level of their development; the courses and workshops found here are designed with players' needs at their core.
This course is designed to help to develop your confidence and equip you with the knowledge, understanding and applied skills to lead coaching sessions for children and create safe, fun, player-centred coaching environments.
Who should attend?
For coaches who are going to predominantly coach children from six to 13 years.
- Attend all 4 days
- six sessions of supported practice - usually in your own club coaching environment
- Organise an assessment at your club
Minimum age for candidates:
At least 17 years of age (candidates may attend the course and assessment if they are over 17 years of age; however, due to the level of responsibility associated with the role, they will not be certificated until they are 18 years of age).
- All candidates must complete a First Aid course (included in the course) and also complete the online Safeguarding Young Cricketers online course.
- They must also have an up-to-date ECB DBS prior to starting their supportive practice component of the course. For further information on obtaining a ECB DBS please click here
*The David Shepherd Cricket Trust has kindly continued their support this year by offering those who are involved with an affiliated club in Devon to receive a £100.00 discount off the course price. Those candidates must be working in a youth section during the 2019 season and must be a member of the Trust.
