UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to current ground conditions and the forecast over the coming days, we have had to take the decision to postpone our Grounds Management Day at Abbotskerswell CC this Saturday. As it stands there is no chance of getting onto the pitch. We would like to thank all those club groundskeepers who registered to attend.

With the limited time between now and the start of the season, and the amount of work needed to get club pitches ready for action, it's unlikely we will be able to rearrange the event. Instead, we will focus on hosting a mid-season session. More details to follow.

Our County Pitch Advisors are listed below. They are very approachable. Should you have any immediate queries you were hoping to raise at the above event, then please feel free to get in contact with them:

ORIGINAL POST:

The Devon Cricket Foundation are running a training and demonstration day for Devon cricket club groundskeepers this Saturday, March 23 at Abbotskerswell CC.

The grounds day, which is aimed at both new and experienced groundskeepers, will provide useful training on pre-season preparations, following GMA guidelines.

The session is also aimed at female cricketers and volunteers with a general interest in grounds management to help them take their first steps into groundskeeping.

Attendees will be given practical demos on square cutting, pitch protection and outfield maintenance, as well as introductions to the online GMA toolkit and PitchPower.

The full itinerary for the day can be found here.

Additionally, both DGM and Dennis/Sisis sales specialists will be on hand to provide some interesting demos on new machinery technology including e-mowers (pedestrian and GPS robotic), Sisis QuadraPlay Turf Management and Major Roller mower decks amongst others on display.

Hot and cold refreshments along with hot bacon rolls will be available during the day.

Please complete this separate online intention to attend form as soon as possible to enable us to cater for all attendees.
