The NatWest OSCAs are a national reward and recognition scheme to support grass roots cricket and the vast army of volunteers who ensure that cricket can be enjoyed by so many at all levels, with the overall aim of rewarding the contribution that these volunteers make to the game.

Each year we ask our clubs and organisations to nominate worthy volunteers for an OSCA so that we can say ‘thank you’ to them for all their hard work. The thank you’s vary from County to County and this year Devon would like to reward our volunteers with a day out at CA The County Ground, Taunton.

In 2019 we will be rewarding our OSCA shortlist with a hospitality event on the first day of the Specsavers County Championship game between Somerset CCC v Hampshire CCC on Sunday 30th June.

The day will include:
A day out at the cricket with a Carvery lunch

These awards are a fantastic opportunity for you to nominate and recognise the volunteers who make cricket possible at your club.

You will see from the list below that there are six categories that we accept nominations against, so please tell us all about the volunteers that make a real difference at your club.

The six NatWest OSCAs nomination categories for 2019 will be:

Heartbeat of the Club – The special volunteer that your club simply couldn’t do without, often the roles they carry out are behind the scenes. They often undertake a number of different roles, and are always there to lend a hand.

Lifetime Achiever – This individual will have made an outstanding difference to their cricket Club, League, Board or local cricket community over a significant number of years.

Young Volunteer (14 to 18 Years Old) – This award is designed to highlight and show the fantastic contribution that young volunteers aged between 14 & 18 on September 1st 2019 can make within the game.

Young Volunteer (19 to 25 Years Old) – This award is designed to highlight and show the fantastic contribution that young volunteers aged between 19 & 25 on September 1st 2019 can make within the game.

The Most Inspiring & Diverse Cricket Offer – This award is designed to highlight a club, league or community organisation that offers member led products, programmes and events that encourage participation from all members of their community.  Innovation and pushing the boundaries are to be rewarded here and we want to recognise growth within the game.

Pro-Active Leadership in Cricket – This award is designed to highlight and show the essential contribution that proactive leadership can make within the Club, Leagues, Officiating, Community or County Organisation’s.  We want to recognise those individuals who are providing vision and direction in growing the game and reaching into new markets.

When nominating the volunteers at your club, please consider where specific impact can be measured, what difference have the volunteers made to the game and please focus on this as opposed to longevity.

The 2019 National NatWest OSCA’s will be held at Lords cricket ground on Monday 14th October and will follow a similar format to previous years, with the Devon Cricket Board nominating one person from each of the 6 categories to attend this national event.
