Devon Women's Vitality Blast! Women's League Three double-header was cut short after an unfortunate incident put paid to proceedings during the first game of the day.

Devon Women had elected to field and struck early through Katie Donovan (1-4) and Steph Hutchins (2-30), leaving Wiltshire 15-2 inside five overs. Flo Sharman (40) and Sanya Khurana (32) rebuilt with a 58-run stand, but Eva Lewis (3-16) broke the partnership before running through the middle order. Tight spells from Regina Lilii (0-14) and Ellie Bishop (0-21) then helped contain the visitors to 106/6 after 20 overs.

In response, Devon raced to 23 in 4.2 overs before Elle Golsworthy was dismissed for 16 by Grace Wetherall and were 56/1 after 8 overs when a freak incident stopped play and brought the day's proceedings to an end.

Devon Women claimed victory by virtue of a revised target of 38, but the thoughts of everyone at Devon Cricket are with Cerys Griffiths, and we wish her a swift recovery.

David Joseph's Post-Match Thoughts

"At times like this, there are far more important things than cricket.

"No one ever wants any game to end with an injury; we all hope that Cerys makes a speedy recovery."
