Devon Women head to Oxfordshire looking for their first win of the season in a Vitality Blast Women's League Three double-header at Thame Town CC on Sunday, 10 May.

In a first encounter between the two sides since July 2024, Devon will be looking to get their season up and running against the newly promoted hosts.

Devon currently sit bottom of Division 1A, having lost their opening double-header against Berkshire at The Holt last month. Oxfordshire sit just above Devon in third, having won one and lost one following their opening day double-header at home to Wiltshire.

Lauren Rowles's Pre-Match Thoughts

"It's the first away trip of the summer, and I'm really looking forward to our T20 fixtures against Oxford this Sunday. Our performance against Glamorgan was extremely encouraging, with the group showing real energy and intent throughout the game, which very nearly resulted in a win.

"The challenge now is to build on those positives, continue to improve, and bring the same level of performance into this weekend. We have a strong squad in place, and I’m excited to see how the group performs and hopefully get our first win of the season on the board!"

Katie Donovan's Pre-Match Thoughts

"After being away for eight months for the cricket season down under, I'm excited for my first game back in England (and post-injury!) and to be in Devon colours.

"Bring on British summer cricket!"

Devon Women won by 6 wickets

Women's County T20 - Group 4

The first of two victories on the day that left Devon Women with a chance to progress to Finals Day if they won their remaining two games, the last encounter between the two sides went to the wire.

Having won the toss, the visitors elected to bat and openers Genny Porter (33) and Abi Norgrove (61) made an explosive start to the day putting on 108 for the first wicket, scoring at over eight runs an over for the first 10 overs.

Taking pace off allowed Devon to start slowing the run rate, Regina Lilii (4-14), ably supported by Eva Lewis and Gemma Lancaster, proved to be crucial in restricting Oxfordshire to 140 for 5 at the end of their 20 overs.

Devon's openers, Amelie Munday (29) and Emma Corney (40) started in aggressive fashion, putting on 63 for the first wicket and getting Devon ahead of the rate. Captain Ruby Davis continued the momentum with a quick 29. It was left to Regina Lilii with a run-a-ball 23 and Jemima Vereker to secure the win with 3 balls to spare, ending a very good all-round team performance.
