Devon Women won their sixth consecutive Metro Bank One Day Cup game on Sunday to stay top of the table heading into the final round of fixtures.

Hosts Cheshire, who were put in to bat first, were dismissed for 149 in 34 overs. Emily Murray (36) and Ellie Mason (26) put on 61 for the first wicket, but Abbie Lockett (3-31) removed Murray before having Mason caught in the 15th over. Amy Seddon then fell for a rapid 23, run out by a combination of Regina Lilii and George Read, leaving Cheshire at 95-3 in the following over.

Ellie Bishop (3-24) then struck three times, dismissing Peyton Hulme (8), Gaby McKeever (1) and Isla Entwistle (5) in the space of eight overs to leave the hosts on 122/6 before the halfway point. Lauren Rowles's Post-Match Thoughts

"Another great win from the women this weekend. Abbie Lockett, Ellie Bishop and Katie Donovan were outstanding with the ball, each taking three wickets and putting us in a strong position early.

"With the bat, Jemima Vereker was superb. A composed and confident 71 off 59 that set the tone for the chase from ball one. She was backed up brilliantly by Regina Lilii, who finished unbeaten on 38 to guide us home.

"The group showed real quality and ruthlessness throughout, a performance to be proud of as we keep pushing towards the league title."

Katie Donovan's Post-Match Thoughts

"After picking up a hamstring injury against Cambridgeshire, it felt great to be back in the squad and contribute to a winning performance. To return, do my part for the team and help get the result made it an even better feeling.

"Now, all focus is on the final game of the season at home. We're going into it with high hopes and everything to play for as we look to finish the season top of the table."
