Devon Women are back at Exeter CC for the first time in almost two years when they face Cambridgeshire on Sunday, 12 July.

Devon go into this weekend's Metro Bank One Day Cup fixture top of Division 1, courtesy of a superior net run rate over Staffordshire, off the back of two convincing bonus-point victories against last season's champions, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire.

Sunday will be the first time Devon will play a competitive match at the County Ground since July 2024, when the side beat Warwickshire by 134 runs with a lineup featuring Emma Corney, Ruby Davis, Amelie Munday and Erin Vukusic.

Cambridgeshire are yet to play in this season's Metro Bank Cup, most recently playing a double-header against Cricket East in Division 2A of the Vitality Blast Women's League Three on 14 June.

Lauren Rowles's Pre-Match Thoughts

"I'm looking forward to our fixture against Cambridgeshire this weekend at Exeter CC. It's been a little while since our last 50-over game, but the work everyone has been putting in at club training and in matches gives me real confidence that we'll step straight back into things with purpose.

"The group has been building brilliantly, and I’m excited to see us carry that momentum into another strong performance and push for another win in the competition."

Georgia Read's Pre-Match Thoughts

Metro Bank One Day Cup League Three - Division 1

Devon Women secured a commanding eight-wicket victory over Cambridgeshire with 19 overs to spare in their Metro Bank One Day Cup clash at The Holt, comfortably chasing down 179 after a disciplined bowling performance.

Cambridgeshire's innings was anchored by Sarah Singer’s patient 72 off 99 balls, but lacked substantial partnerships as wickets fell at regular intervals. Devon's bowlers shared the spoils, with Eva Lewis (4-39) and Ellie Bishop doing the bulk of the damage. Bishop's late spell was particularly devastating, taking four wickets in just 4.1 overs while conceding only eight runs.

The hosts' reply was emphatic from the outset. Openers Jemima Vereker (24 off 25) and Steph Hutchins (51 off 67) raced to 71 inside 12 overs, aided by 31 extras. Hutchins' maiden Devon half-century, featuring seven boundaries, set the platform before Bishop (44) and Regina Lilii (25) completed the chase in just 30.4 overs with an unbroken 48-run stand.

Skipper Steph Hutchins hit het maiden Devon half-century against Cambridgeshire last time out.
