With just two divisions in action this weekend, there was still plenty of drama, big scores and standout individual performances across the county. Here's how the teams got on.

Division One

Exmouth welcomed Exeter as they searched for their first win of the season. Winning the toss, the hosts elected to field first, but Exeter produced a remarkable batting display. Captain Elle Golsworthy dominated proceedings, smashing an unbeaten 204* from just 111 balls, including 39 fours and a six. Supported by Iris Woodward (23) and Megan Drury (15), Exeter piled on 355/7 from their allotted overs.

Exmouth refused to let the daunting target affect their approach. Lucy Humphreys anchored the chase with an unbeaten 83, while Jasmyne Watson added 58 and Sasha Gerrick contributed 32. Despite their efforts, Exeter’s total proved too much, with Exmouth finishing 76 runs short.

Reflecting on the victory, Golsworthy said: “It was a very hot and high-scoring game. The main thing is the team got back to winning ways, and we put on a big score for Exmouth to try and chase down. Thankfully, the team got through the overs, and we got back to winning ways! On a personal note, that was my highest individual score 204* and have been told it is also a club record! A good score always feels better when we have a team win to go with it!”

Elsewhere, North Devon hosted defending champions Plymouth. After winning the toss, North Devon chose to bat first and posted an imposing 272/8. Regina Lilii top-scored with 86, while Megan Snape (43) and Lauren Bowden (31) provided valuable support.

Melissa Banks led Plymouth’s response with a well-made 79, but wickets continued to fall around her. With Issie Ollis claiming three wickets and Megan Zieleniewicz and Regina Lilii taking two apiece, Plymouth were eventually dismissed for 181. The victory moves North Devon to the top of the table, level on points with Paignton but ahead on net run rate.

Finally, Paignton welcomed Cornwood after winning the toss and electing to bat first. Ella Gill starred with a superb century, scoring 103 as Paignton posted 276. Ellie Bishop added 71, while Jemima Vereker struck a rapid 44 from just 23 deliveries to keep the scoreboard moving.

Cornwood struggled to build partnerships in reply. Gemma Lancaster battled hard for an unbeaten 54, but wickets fell regularly at the other end. The visitors were eventually bowled out for 116 in the 39th over, with Vereker taking three wickets and the remaining seven shared amongst the bowling attack. The defeat marked Cornwood’s fourth consecutive league loss of the season.

Division Three

Ottery St Mary travelled to Bovey Tracey for an important Division Three encounter. After winning the toss, Ottery elected to field first. Bovey made a strong start through an opening stand of 49 between Amelie Webber (23) and Olivia McCauley (43). Although Webber was dismissed by Abbie Sullivan, the runs continued to flow. Emily Martin retired unbeaten on 51, while Libby Hooper added 24 as Bovey finished on 185/4.

Ottery responded positively, with captain Abbie Sullivan making 39 and Darcey Jones contributing 31. However, Bovey’s bowlers kept the visitors under pressure throughout the chase. Olivia McCauley completed an excellent all-round performance with three wickets, while Imogen Du Toit also claimed three as Ottery were restricted to 138. The 47-run victory keeps Bovey firmly in the promotion race, while Ottery remain top of the table despite the defeat, with Bovey holding a game in hand.
