The County Age Group Awards returned to Winslade Park, as players and parents joined coaches and staff in a celebration of the 2023 season.
At the awards ceremony on Friday evening, coaches from each County Age Group looked back on their teams' respective seasons and celebrated their players' achievements.
Devon's county age group youth teams have enjoyed one of their best seasons on record.
The Under 16 Boys reached the national quarter-finals of their 50-over championship. The Under 18 Girls made it to the national finals of the 40 overs competition. And the Under 18 Boys were national quarter-finalists in the 50 overs, group winners in the three-day competition and losing finalists in the T20 nationals.
County Age Group Chairman Jim Parker paid tribute to the county, its teams, coaches and managers at the awards night.
He said: "It has been one of the county youth group’s most successful seasons. Not only have we managed to compete with some of the so-called big boys and girls at a national cricket level, we have also managed to beat them. The county continues to punch well above its weight."
Somerset CCC Director of Cricket Andy Hurry, Devon pathway player and Somerset CCC star Ben Green, and former Devon age group and now Western Storm Head Coach, Trevor Griffin, presented the awards.
Parker said proof of Devon's continuing success was in its pathway partnership with Somerset. He said: "It is truly rewarding to see so many young players work their way into the Somerset academy and actually end up playing for Somerset and even their country.
"It is fabulous to see one of the county youth prodigies here tonight in Ben Green and his boss Andy Hurry who have led the Cidermen to one of their most successful seasons this year.
"The quality of our coaches is also testament to the quality of the pathway with several going on to land national and international coaching roles, including Trevor Griffin."
He added: "Youth cricket in Devon across the board, including our new Development Centres structure and programme, is in a good place.
"And that in no small measure is down to Devon Cricket's Managing Director, Matt Theedom, Pathway Manager and Lead Coach, Sandy Allen, and the coaches and managers who have made playing possible."
He also thanked parents and guardians for the support as well as the players themselves.
