The Devon Cricket Board (DCB), in partnership with the Lord’s Taverners, wish to appoint a Wicketz Development Officer who will use the power of cricketas a tool for change, social cohesion and make a difference to the lives of people in deprived areas of Plymouth.

The DCB seeks to employ a highly motivated, driven and competent Development Officer that will work within the Cricket Development team.  The role’s main focus will be to create sustainable community led cricket hub environments, that operate all year round, and that offer both participation and competitive opportunities for 8 to 19 year olds.  The individual will also have a drive to develop programmes that tackle social issues identified within the sport and promote healthy lifestyle choices

You will need to be passionate about, and committed to, cricket development at a local level and for this role, it would be an advantage if you have experience of cricket/sports development at a grassroots level coupled with a sound knowledge, appreciation and understanding of the game.

Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised using their own initiative.  You will be a self-starter with energy and enthusiasm together with good administration and organisational skills.  Equally you will be an excellent communicator with a passion for the development of cricket/sport for young people.
