Plymouth v Lewdown U14 7/6/18
Along with Plympton St Maurice and Ivybridge, another team starting well has been Plymouth and the city side hosted Lewdown at Mount Wise in the hunt for more points. Plymouth won the toss and decided to bat first. Plymouth made a steady start with Noah Carlise (30) and James Grigg (50*) before Grigg set about the bowling and raced to 50. Ethan Carlisle kept up the momentum started by Grigg and also raced to 50 before retiring. Noah was the first wicket to fall on 120, but even then George Jagger (18) and Barney Mills (14) chipped in to get Plymouth up to 191-4 at the end of their innings.
Lewdown's reply got off to the worst start with James Grigg removing Hugh Tomkinson first ball but despite a mini recovery between Connor Madge and Keith Maynard (12), wickets started to tumble again with Barney Mills (3-6), Ethan Carlisle (2-2) and Molly Marsh (2-20) doing the damage with the ball. Tom Holland (18) did stick around until becoming one of Marsh's victims; stumped by Noah Carlisle. When the last wicket fell, Lewdown had reached 69, meaning Plymouth won by 122 runs.
