AWARDS were handed out at the first end-of-season presentation night organised by the combined youth sections of Lewdown and Bridestowe cricket clubs.
In an area with a low population density, it made sense for the rival clubs to work together.
Coaching has taken place every Friday evening across the clubs for players aged from five up to 14.
The youngest players are coached in softball cricket by Alex Jopling, Nick Hayden, Jo Pritchard and Gideon Pritchard.
Players in the under-11 and under-13 age groups were coached last season by Ray Jordan, Mike Maynard, South African Dino Visser and the former Lancashire and England fast bowler Peter Lever.
The U13 side finished third in the Tamar League.
At U11 level the combined squad put out A and B teams. The A team finished third in the Tamar League. The B team were winless in the Dartmoor Division, but did register a couple of victories in the league cup.
The U9 team took part in softball festivals at Callington, Yelverton and Ivybridge.
The evening was hosted by Lewdown CC in their Recreation Field pavilion.
