During the summer after Covid, the Tolchards Devon Women's Cricket league introduced the Super 8s Competition in place of the traditional 35 over league. This meant that cricket could be played during that summer amnd proved so popular that the format has continued each year with growing numbers. 

Played as a triangular competiton at one club, the games are 8 aside, 16 over matches. The competition has been instrumental as a trasition playing opportuntity for softball teams that want to try hardball before entering the 35 over league. 2024 sees a record number of entries, meaning that the summer looks to be a busy one for women's hardabll cricket.

The teams are divided into regioanl groups and then at the end of the season, the winner of each group play in a TRophy Final and the runners up play in a Plate Final. 

Hatherleigh Women 1st XI are the current Trophy winners and Topsham St James hold the Plate Trophy.
