HONITON 2nd XI lost their place in G Division East, losing to Filleigh to condemn them to the second demotion spot into the H Division for next summer. 

Put into bat, Honiton only made 84 all out inside 37 overs. Openers Steve Haysom and Martin Wilmington's incredibly watchful start saw Filleigh opener Albert Buckley bowl four maidens out of his five overs, but not take a wicket.

Jon Hickman earnt 2-10 before Rupert Janisch (3-16) and Kevin Toze (4-13) rattled through the middle-order and tailenders.

Stuart Coombe and Will Cowley were Honiton's joint topscorers with 13 apiece.

Filleigh did lose three wickets in the chase, 22-3 seeing the home side with a sniff early on. Richard Hill earning an expensive 2-23 off four overs as skipper Simon Prideaux whacked 33* off 11 balls to dent his figures. 

Prideaux of the Mark variety (33* off 15 balls) was there with Simon as the two Filleigh stalwarts saw them over the line inside 11 overs.

Filleigh finished the season in fourth place a mammoth 70 points above Cheriton Fitzpaine in fifth.
