THE Barriball brothers from Tavistock have been given a second chance to showcase their talents in the Devon Lions side tackling Somerset Academy in a two-day game at Bovey Tracey.
Charlie, who bowls and bats, and batting all-rounder Billy were picked for the ill-fated game against Warwickshire at Sidmouth last month. Warwickshire pulled out of the game at short notice.
The brothers have been in sparkling form at club level this season and the Devon management are keen to have a look at them in a longer form of cricket.
Shaun Daymond, the brothers' skipper at Tavistock, said: "They are fine players with bat and ball and their call-up is well deserved."
The game against Somerset on Bank Holiday Monday and Tuesday has been fixtured as a two-day game.
Cornwood’s Matt Skeemer will skipper the side, which also includes Plymouth’s left-arm spinner Matt Petherbridge.
Paignton batsman Harry Ward, another player named against Warwickshire, is also in the 12 to face Somerset.
Sam Read, the 17-year-old batter with D East side Clyst St George, gets a go. He has scored more than 1,000 league runs this season.
Sam Moore, a Devon under-17 team-mate of Read’s, gets a first call having impressed at Premier level since his move from Barnstaple & Pilton to North Devon.
