PREMIER PROSPECTS – WEEK 12

BRADNINCH & KENTISBEARE (top) v SIDMOUTH (6th)

Bradninch & Kentisbeare (Gary Chappell): Myself, Mitch Pugh and Ross Acton back. Young Nic Bayly has returned to South Africa, having made a real impact at the club over the last two months. Hoping Andrew Buzza is fit again, but that'll be a late call. The lads did superbly well to win last week and it's great to see different people putting their hand up to win us games. Andrew Buzza – fitness doubtWe have a team of match winners, and we're going to need that depth to regain the Premier this season as no doubt there will be tough moments and games along the way, not least Sidmouth this Saturday. When full strength they're right up there with the top teams in the Premier Division and we fully expect a hard game.

Sidmouth (Luke Bess): I know Gary (Chappell) always expects some guest appearances for the Bradninch game. Few changes, as per usual with some unavailability. However good to have Isaac Thomas and Zak Bess back in the fold. Will Murray available again this week so he is in, and Robbie Powell in to keep. I missed the game at home but sounded like a great game and a close contest. Hopefully the same again if the weather holds.

EXETER (4th) v EXMOUTH (5th)

Exeter (Joe Gore): Nott and Vukusic return. Looking forward to what is a huge game in our season. Hope rain stays away.

Exmouth (Fin Marks): Pete Turnbull and George Greenway are missing this week, which are big misses, especially against the in-form batters of Exeter. Exeter with their school players back look like they could be the team to beat in the second half of the season, especially at home. As always looking for one of their pros to rock up as they usually do. Luckily this week, we have our own ringer in...

SANDFORD (2nd) v PAIGNTON (8th)

Sandford (Jackson Thompson): Harrison Jones is back after his holidays so will come into the side. Aside from that no other change. We have been fairly consistent in our selection and teams each week and it is showing with people knowing their roles and playing their part. Paignton are a good side and so I am expecting a decent game.

Recalled: Neil HancockPaignton (Noah Wright): A couple unavailable this week due to injury and availability. Neil Hancock in off the back of a big 150. The pressure is off this weekend as we're playing against defending champions. No one expects us to win so there is absolutely no pressure. A good chance to do grab a win.

BOVEY TRACEY (9th) v HEATHCOAT (7th)

Bovey Tracey (Peter Bradley); Just for a change we have a few missing – seven in fact! Olly Clifford-Bourne (wedding), Adam Kent (injured), Ben Holmes (holiday), Tom Andrew (working), Ed Foreman (family function), Rob Pryke, Charlie Hill (both unavailable). We have a surprise return to the first team. Great to have him in. Will help us in all facets of the game. Won't be naming socials. Other than the secret weapon (and myself), we are a young team. We shouldn't be out-fielded. And want to keep the big ‘winning streak’ (one match) going. No reason why we can't win, if guys step up, fulfil their roles and have fun.

Heathcoat (Dylan Penberthy-Hutchings): James Olney-Gregson, Will Hall-Tomkin and Joe Parkinson all out this week. Harry Southgate, Will Thompson and Jake Stoneman all in. Hope the (bad) weather stays away.

CORNWOOD (5th) v PLYMPTON (10th)

Cornwood (Elliott Staddon): Hoping the expected (bad) weather stays away! Feels like I've been saying that most weeks this season! Couple of changes for us this week with Jack Ormsby back in for Jason Hall, who picked up a knee injury during the game last week. Excitingly, we are welcoming another colt from within the club into 1st XI cricket. Sam Ford, an all-rounder, will be coming in for his debut. I hope for him to enjoy it and hopefully take to the league in the same way as Alex Shutt, who has been fantastic for us over the last couple of weeks.

Plympton: Nothing to report
