THE centuries just keep coming in this season’s Brockman Cup competition with Ipplepen’s Seb Powell the latest to join the ton-up club.

Powell lashed 103 not out in Pens 52-run win over Stoke Gabriel in the second round of the competition.

Powell’s was the third century in the T20 cup this season. South Devon’s Mark Andrews and Shaldon’s Joe Wilcox scored the other two.

Opener Jack Wylie made 31 as Pens totted up 186 for two.

Stoke, who batted a man short due to injury, were all out for 134. Kai Horsborough top scored for Stoke with 57.

Pens will play near neighbours Abbotskerswell in the first semi-final, which takes place at Torquay on Friday, June 10.

Stokeinteignhead beat Torquay by four wickets in a low-scoring affair to reserve their spot in the last four.

The Russells – Paul (25) and Mark (37) – were Stoke’s leading run getters as they chased down 94 to win with 13 balls to spare.

Ben Francis had top scored for Torquay with 40 and Sam Carpenter chipped in with 21.

Waiting for Stokeinteignhead in next Monday’s second semi-final are South Devon, who defeated Shaldon in the last round.
