DEVON CCC’s annual day out at Taunton to watch Somerset as guests of the club has been re-arranged for later in the season.

Devon members had been anticipating a trip to the County Ground next Tuesday to watch Somerset in action against Yorkshire.

An attraction of the game would have been to see Devonian Test player Dom Bess performing for Yorkshire against his former Somerset team-mates.

Bess went through the Devon age-group ranks and played Minor Counties cricket with Devon CCC before graduating to the professional game.

Bess has played in 14 Test matches since making his international debut against Pakistan at Lord’s in 2018.

The new Devon Day at Taunton will be on September 20 during Somerset’s game against Northamptonshire.

Devon members will be admitted free of charge to the County Ground on Devon Day. Nigel Mountford, the Devon chief executive, said details of parking arrangements and seating areas will be released closer to the date.
