PREMIER PROSPECTS – WEEK NINE

CORNWOOD v SANDFORD

Cornwood (Elliott Staddon): One change. Adam Goodliffe is unavailable so Ryan Rickard returns to the side. Sanford are on a good run and have some great players in their side. We know we have to be at our best but we will go in confident knowing if we play our best we can get a good result from the game.

Sandford (Richard Foan): A couple away this weekend so Harry Everett and Peter Steer come up from the 2ndXI after some good performances recently. Lawrence Walker is also available now he is free from school commitments. Not available this weekend are Jack Ford, Harrison Jones and Andrew Buzza. No point in dwelling on unavailable players as we have a strong squad and team to deal with it. Great chance for others to step up. More of the same for us as we are on a decent run of form and looking to continue it this week. We are in a really good position after a slow start. Cornwood seem to be doing all right this year so need to be on top of our game.

PAIGNTON v BOVEY TRACEY

Paignton (Mark Orchard): No George Benton this week. Cole Harford comes back in after missing last week. It has been a tough couple of weeks for the lads; weather has changed both games and we've come out on the wrong side both times. However we've shown we're a good side both weeks and that'll help build experience. Be nice to get a win against a side who are always tough opponents, then go into the second half of the season looking to finish well.

Bovey Tracey (Lewis Hammett): Toby Codd, Charlie Hill and myself back this week. Chris Bradley, Ryan Bougourd and Ed Foreman out. Hoping for a full game and that the weather holds out. There has been a lot of noise about Saxena and looking forward to seeing him bat. Hopefully, not for too long! We know they are not a one-man team with Harry Ward, Luke Medlock and Mark Orchard. We have been Paignton's bunny side for a while now and hoping that continues.

HATHERLEIGH v NORTH DEVON

Hatherleigh (Mark Lake):Three changes this week. Gareth Tidball out through injury. Achilles Brown has gone back home to the Caribbean for training. Cam Rowlands drops back to the 2nd XI after helping out last week. Back are Charlie Nielson Sean Letheren and Rob Cockwill. Looking to continue the form from last week against a bang-in-from North Devon side whom we know well. I expect a highly competitive game, but we won't roll over lightly even though it's top-against-bottom.

North Devon:

HEATHCOAT v BRADNINCH

Heathcoat (Peter Randerson): Saturday is about getting our season back on track. We have full availability so hopefully we can do that. Always a tricky contest with Bradninch, so we will need to be a lot better than last week.

Bradninch (Gary Chappell): Quite a few back who were away last week against Plymouth. The lads did superbly and it was a real shame to lose a close one. The Premier Division is really competitive and we could easily be in the top three, but it's easy saying that and we're aware there are areas we need to improve on to start climbing the table. Heathcoat will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing a couple lately and we know where their strengths lie.

PLYMOUTH v SIDMOUTH

Plymouth (Richard Goldsby-West): Out: Teddy Haffenden, Matt Witcher and Amir Patel. In: Olly Parsons, Sam White, Joe Hagan Burt. This Saturday attention is directing towards the George Stephenson Memorial Game at Plymouth College. We have a number of players who are representing the Select XI against the College 1stXI. It's a 1pm start at Plymouth College.

This year the club, led by Tom Hughes is supporting Young Lives Versus Cancer in memory of George. We will be running social and fundraising events to raise awareness and support for a charity that is so close to us all. Please can other clubs and players check our social media platforms for information on how to support, raise awareness and donate.

Sidmouth (Luke Bess): We have had lots of close/tough games with Plymouth in the past and I don't expect this weekend to be any different. Henry Armstrong is back available and Taylor Ingham-Hill will play after adding a ton in the 2ndXI to his bowling, which has been consistent all season.
