HATHERLEIGH skipper Niall Leahy reeled off a century against Westleigh and still ended-up on the losing side.

Hatherleigh amassed 225 for six against with leftie Leahy making 121 and putting on 102 with keeper Tallan Burns (41). James Starkey (3-37) was the pick of the Westleigh bowlers.

Westleigh knocked off the runs with three wickets in hand and five overs to spare. After Selwyn Fisher started the chase with 59, Richard Wild top scored with 66. Oscar Moore took four for 42 in vain for the defeated hosts.

Barnstaple & Pilton chased Braunton Kelseymen’s 40-over total of 161 for seven in the derby date at Raleigh Meadow.

Kelseymen skipper Andrew Norman hit 66 and Sam Reddick had 31 for the visitors. Teenage bowlers Fredie Norton (3-37) and Ruben Chugg (3-32) dominated the B&P bowling stats. Chugg, who is just 13, was appearing in an adult league match for the first time.

Opener Jamie Sutton top scored with 33 as B&P knocked-off the runs with five wickets intact.

Holsworthy defeated Belstone in a low-scoring League Cup thriller.

Mathew Mansbridge hit 72 in Holsworthy’s total of 155 all out. Rob Mitchell (29) was the only other batter to make double figures. Douglas Little’s three for was Belstone’s best bowling return.

Mitchell (3-17) and Aiden Gerry (3-23) bowled out Belstone for 147 to win by eight runs. Skipper Matt Dennis top scored for Belstone with 33 and Ryan Dennis chipped in with 31.
