As with the West area festival the day before, the East Schools' Kwik Cricket Festival saw both Mixed and Girls teams decend en-masse on the same day.  It was great to see some new schools joining the regulars to experience the fun of these events.

In the Mixed event, Stoke Hill were unbeaten in their matches and so secured first position.  There were three schools - Woodbury, Webbers and Kentisbeare - who each secured three wins in their four matches.  In totalling the runs scored, Woodbury came fourth with 941, Kentisbeare third with 954, and Webbers secured second with 964.

Meanwhile, with an odd number of teams in the Girls event, the best three results for each school counted towards their final position.  To complete the double, Stoke Hill were again unbeaten, as were Clyst Hydon but with 60 fewer runs to their name.  The notable result from this event was the first tie in 4 years of competition, with Burlescombe and Woodbury both scoring 205 in their match!

Good luck to those reaching the County Finals and many thanks to Ottery St Mary for the use of thier ground and pavilion.
