A DIVISION

TORQUAY v TAVISTOCK

Torquay (Chris Kelmere): Team is unchanged from last week. There has been a lot of competition for places in the team, which is great to see so many good players pushing for a spot from the 2nd XI. Expecting a good battle against a Tavistock team with a lot of experience.

Tavistock (Shaun Daymond): We can hust about get two teams out this week so we're all good to play. Will Scott-Munden (All-rounder) is in. James McGahey (seamer) back from injury; Jack Smyly is away.

BUDLEIGH SALTERTON v NORTH DEVON

North Devon (Tom Popham): Myself back in. Reuben Windley out as he's tested positive for covid. Two games to put everything including to and aim to seal promotion in a convincing manner. We've had two weeks with no cricket so we're fresh and raring to play some cricket again. Budleigh have a good mix of young and experience and there league position isn't an accurate reflection of their quality. Again hopefully the rain holds up.

Budleigh Salterton (Lloyd Murrin): We could and should by comfortable by now, but losing to Abbotskerswell has dragged us close to the danger zone. Two big weeks left for us to survive in the A. We are not where we wanted to be but with staying in the division is in our hands we are confident we can do enough to stay up. North Devon are a top team, this week will be a tough ask but with going close with them earlier in the season we are confident we can get something from the game. The Parkins both unavailable so in come Theo Northover and Sam Whitehead, who is back this week.

BRADNINCH v CULLOMPTON

Bradninch (Eliot Acton): We have a few late availability issues so team not confirmed yet. The table means nothing when it comes to local derbies so I'm expecting a really tough match. I think we need 13 points to win the division so we need to make sure we are fully focused on our own game and doing what we have done all year as they have some effective batters and I'm sure as a team, will be very motivated to get a result against us.

Cullompton: Nothing to report.

BARTON v PLYMPTON – CANCELLED

Barton (Adam Parker): Plympton messaged to call the game off. They've been hit with a few coming back from Boardmasters.

Plympton (Jonty Walliker): Sadly we had to call the game off owing to Covid this weekend. Six first teamers isolating. We had been one of the few clubs yet to be affected so it was inevitably going to happen.

ABBOTSKERSWELL v SEATON

Abbotskerswell (Nick Watkin): No Eddie Smout-Cooper, no Sam Carpenter who is at a surfing competition in Bournemouth and no Ben Cowdry, who is in the mix to win a car at Lords (Hundred promotional competition). Hoping to keep our good run going as still not safe. Really motivated to produce another good performance.

Seaton (Ben Morgan): Josh Cann and Sam Fernley come back in for Wes and Daley Holmes. We need a result this weekend. Abbots will be a tough game and I hope we can put in the performance I know we are capable of. With football and festivals returning, and how easy it is to call-off games, I wonder how many games will be off this weekend in Devon again because of 'Covid'?
