BRADNINCH will be the only non-Premier outfit at the Sunbelt Rentals Devon T20 finals day after they comprehensively demolished Sandford by seven wickets in the semi-final at Creedy Park.

Sandford batted first and were 100 for two early in the 11th over, but then fell away to be bowled out for 139 with three balls to go.

Rory Thomas - got on with it Only home skipper Richard Foan made any sort of impression with the bat, hitting a 23-ball 55, a knock that included six sixes… and no fours!

Opener Ryan Glass chipped in with 22 and the best of the rest was a knock of 13 from number 10 batsman Robert Stoyle. The only other home player into double figures was Josh King (11).

Gary Chappell (3-17) topped the Bradninch bowling returns while young Josh Farley’s figures were an economic 1-15 from four. Only one delivery went for more than one run - and that was a two!

The other Bradninch wicket takers were Craig Penberthy (3-28 from 2.2 overs), Mitch Pugh (2-34 from four) and Ross Acton (1-27 from four).

When Bradninch replied, Rory Thomas sent the first two deliveries of the innings over the boundary ropes. He went on to underpin the successful run chase, scoring 67 from just 36 deliveries, hitting seven sixes and four fours.

Pugh hit an unbeaten 32 from 28 balls and Bradninch powered home, winning by seven wickets with some 28 deliveries still to be bowled.

For Sandford, the pick of the bowling figures was Jonathan Campbell’s 1-24 from four overs. The Zimbabwean sent down 13 dot balls.
