WILL Greenwood joined the most exclusive club in the Tolchards Devon Cricket League by smashing an unbeaten double-hundred for Teignmouth & Shaldon 2nd XI against Ipplepen.

Double hundreds have been few and far between in the Devon League since Bob Merrifield made the first one for Clyst St George against Cornwood more than 35 years ago.

Greenwood is the latest addition to what is a very short list after he made 233 not out in an F Division West game at the Hazeldown Oval.

Greenwood went in a 53 for two and was still there at the end of the 40-over game on 223 not out.

Along the way Greenwood put on 203 for the third wicket with Daniel O’Connell (80) who passed 50 for the first time for T&S since joining the club from Exwick.

Another stand of 143 for the fourth wicket followed, in which Scott Baxter (23) was the junior partner.

Greenwood faced 120 balls making his 223. He loosed off 25 fours and 11 sixes.
