Paignton take convincing win at under 13 girls festival

On Friday 14th August, Paignton hosted the under 13s girls festival, which saw entries from Paignton, Ipplepen, Exeter and a mixed team from Bovey Tracey and Plymouth. The day started as it meant to go on - a little damp and drizzly, but despite this, all fixtures were played. The format for the day was similar to the Ladies Super 8s festival but with reduced overs to fit all the games in. The rules of the game ensured that the matches were complete team efforts: opening batters had to be different in each game; bowlers could only bowl 2 overs, with the opening batters not able to bowl until everyone else had.

Paignton

Boveymouth

(Bella and Charlotte Greenwood missing)

Exeter

Ipplepen

To reflect the team effort, during the day, teams had to vote for a Player's Player on the opposing team on every game and also a manger could choose the a player at the end of the day who they considered player of the day.
