BOVEY Tracey 2nd XI may not be eligible for promotion from the B Division, but is not going to stop them aiming for a promotion place.

Seaton already have one promotion place secured and if they win at Ipplepen tomorrow – weather permitting – they are up as champions.

As second team area not allowed in the A Division under current league rules, Bovey can’t be promoted as runners-up.

Jeremy Christophers - axed himselfSkipper Jeremy Christophers sees no reason at all not to aim as high as possible – and is backing the youngsters in the side to do it.

Christophers has dropped himself for tomorrow’s derby tussle with Chudleigh and there is no place for versatile Dan Green in the XI.

Work commitments mean Will Christophers is with the 2nd XI and Ashley Treeby drops down from the first team to get some runs under his belt.

Said Christophers: “We are looking for younger players to further develop their game by taking additional responsibility to put in match-winning performances so we can finish the season strongly and possibly in the runners-up spot.”

Thorverton, away to Plymstock, have Paul Fielder back in and Bobby Heard debuts as Jake Choules is away.

Thors need a win in their game in hand to pull away from inactive Cullompton in the scrap for the second promotion place.

Former captain Scott Mansfield is available for Plymstock's last three games, which will strengthen their batting. Seamer Rob Cunningham is back as well.

Promoted Seaton have a title to win so don’t expect them to ease off against Ipplepen.

“We are looking to keep playing the way we have the last few weeks, which has been our best cricket of the season,” said captain Ben Morgan.

“Makes a massive difference when availability is good and we have been fortunate with that after the first four weeks.”

Joe Berry and Rhys Davies replace Richard Warner and Tristan Wakeley in the match line-up.

Elsewhere, Brixham are at home to Kilmington.
