On Sunday Paignton traveled to Plymouth for the return fixture of the season. Their first meeting was Paignton's first fixture in the Devon Women's League which Paignton won by 9 wickets.

Plymouth at home won the toss and chose to field. Hollie Perkin opened the batting for Paignton and had an excellent innings, scoring her personal highest score for the season on 64 until she was LBW off the bowling of Claire Varcoe. While at the crease, Hollie saw batters come and go, with many unable to reach double figures and falling to the bowling of Claire Varcoe, who ended with figures of 5 wickets for 18 runs off 7 overs. Stephanie Kaczalska (18) and Freya Munson (21)  however, batted well in the middle and with 4 balls to go Paignton were all out for 154.

Plymouth went in to bat knowing they had to do well to make the good total set by Paignton. Claire Varcoe and Kath van Beveren came to the crease and that is where they stayed, both carrying their bats to reach the total in 25.1 overs. Kath van Beveren scored 46*, but it was definitely Claire Varcoe's day, as she completed her innings on 87 not out, her highest score for Plymouth this season.

This win takes Plymouth to the promotion spot at the top of the table, 11 points clear of Paignton in second and 20 points clear of Sandford in third. Sandford though have a game in hand and are on winning form this season and so which team will take the promotion spot is quite open.
