DARTINGTON & Totnes beat Babbacombe by 143 runs at Foxhole to go 59 points clear at the top of the table.

Unbeaten Darts need four more wins to be sure of promotion – and could clinch it sooner if chasers Ashburton, Plymouth or Stoke Gabriel lose at least once.

J P Snyman (49) and Harry Baxendale (33) gave D&T a 104 run start, then Jono Colegate (91) took D&T close to their 45-over total of 235 for four.

Ben Passmore (0-33) and Jamie Peters (1-37) bowled tidily with little reward for Babbacombe, who were then bowled out for 92.

Dean Durrant top scored on 31 not out Will Biddles (11) and Paul Sutherland (14) scraped into double figures.

Man of the match Colegate took five for 16 and Baxendale spun away for two for 25.

Babbacombe are third from bottom and need to get ahead of Shaldon to exit the drop spots.

ANDY Kingdon and Calum Moses both smashed unbeaten centuries in Stoke Gabriel’s 102-run win over Ashburton.

Jack Tolley (47) and Kingdon got Stoke off to a Le Mans start – 93 scored in the first 13 overs – then Kingdon and Moses set about the bowling.

Kingdon flogged 131 not out off 144 balls with 20 fours and a six. Moses made 101 not out and hit 14 boundaries from 96 balls faced. He hit the last two balls faced for six and four to reach three figures.

Matt Churchill’s none for 28 off nine overs was pretty respectable in the Ashburton bowling stats.

Ashes were all out in reply for 206. Issac Withington (4-41) doing much of the damage.

In-form Lloyd White (53) and Ashley Berry (63) gave it a go and Chris Pascoe (32) and James Rush (20) both chipped in.

“We were in the game for a while whilst chasing but ultimately it was too big a score,” mused Ashes skipper Berry.

SHALDON won by three wickets at Yelverton to open up a 24-point gap between themselves and Babbacombe in the third relegation place.

Arvind Singh went in a 64 for five for Yelverton and stroked a top score of 58 as they recovered to make 214 for eight. Dan Cooper (35) partnered Singh in a stand of 86 for the sixth wicket.

There were three wickets each for Richie Fisher and Tshepo Legodi in the Shaldon bowling stats.

Ruben Minnaar (65) saw Will Moor and Fisher go cheaply to Cooper (2-51) before settling into a 63-run stand with Carl Woolnough (32).

Adam Dowsing (49no) saw it through with more than five overs to go.

IT’S starting to look bleak for Kingsbridge in the C Division West basement after they lost by eight wickets at Bridestowe.

Ben Grose (25) and James Buchanan (10) had the only double-figure scores for Kingsbridge as Bridestowe bowled them out for 67 in 24 overs.

If the ever-youthful Chris Lavis (3-19) or Alex Jopling (3-17) did not get them, Gary Sizmur (2-9) or Eddy Jones (2-19) did.

Sizmur was 23 not out when the winning boundary was hit in the 14th over.

Kingsbridge are one off the bottom of the table and 44 points shy of safety.

PLYMOUTH 2ndXI’s batting did a disappearing act as the city side slumped to a 112-run defeat in the derby clash with Cornwood 2ndXI.

Matt Butterworth (42) and Cirian Gray (38) were Cornwood’s leading scorers in a total of 215 all out.

John Kerridge took the bowling honours for Plymouth with six for 47.

Plymouth did not have a score greater than 19 as they nosedived to 103 all out in 23 overs.

Craig Harris (5-34) and Lee Baker (4-17) were the destroyers in chief.
