HEATHCOAT are the second side through to finals day in the Servicemaster Clean Devon T20 Cup after defeating Exeter by 11 runs in a thriller at Knightshayes on Sunday.

Liam Lewis belted 92 not out off 68 balls – eight fours, four sixes – and Peter Randerson stroked 56 from 41 deliveries in Heathcoat’s total of 169 for three.

Lewis and Randerson compiled a stand of 138 for the second wicket after skipper Jackson Thompson had been dismissed in the first over by Tom Lammonby,.

Somerset staffer Lammonby was one of three Exeter bowlers to take a wicket – and the only one to bowl a maiden over.

Lammonby (51) and James Bovey (89) then led the Exeter reply by hoisting 94 for the first wicket.

Exeter needed 57 from the final nine overs with nine wickets intact and reached the last over from Christian Cabburn with a target of 22 to win with Bovey still there.

By the time Bovey smacked the fourth ball for six, the result was never in doubt.

Cornwood were the first side through to finals day at North Devon when they defeated Sandford by eight wickets two weeks ago.

Bradninch entertain North Devon this Sunday and Sidmouth will settle their differences with Exmouth on July 7.

Both semi-finals and the final will be played at North Devon on Sunday, July 14. July 21 is the reserve date
