This summer softball cricket is touring the Secondary Schools of Devon ahead of the summer's Softball Tournaments at local Cricket Clubs. The aim is to introduce girls to the fun format and encourage them to enter their own team at local Softball events.

The sessions are set up so the girls are given some cricket skills sessions and then they play a game afterwards. This proved very successful at our recent trip to Exmouth College, as teacher Ian Taylor reports

"The college would like to thank Devon Cricket for providing an afternoon of World Cup Cricket with our girls. They put on skills sessions and a competition which the girls thoroughly enjoyed. They loved the World Cup t-shirts and it was a pleasure seeing the girls enjoying the game and the well organised sessions. We are now hoping to organise a further festival with other local schools later this term"

Sidmouth College also really enjoyed their afternoon of cricket and with visits planned to Holsworthy College and Okehampton College, we hope to spread the joy of cricket to all girls!
